Beeston Rise sponsor local football club

Pheonix fc is a new children’s football team based at Inham Nook, Chilwell, Beeston Rise Care Home have sponsored them.

Yesterday some of the team came to the home for the residents to present them with their new kits before their first match on Sunday.

Lorraine Home Manager commented, ‘I think is a great opportunity to bring together such intergeneration projects, what better is there than an opportunity of a new care home opening and a new local team setting up their first team.

Yesterday was so heartwarming seeing the pride on the children’s faces being presented with their new kits, with our group logo on them, by our lovely residents.’

One of the nicest moments was when Audrey spoke to the new team wishing them well and how she shared with great pride when she worked for john Lewis in Nottingham she managed a Girls football team, Audrey along with the children kindly modelled the new team shirts.

The team have invited our resident to join them for a bacon buttie at their grounds café whilst they watch one of the matches, we can’t wait to go visit them and see kick off.

Daniel Rowark CEO commented, ‘When the relationship was first initiated, we got to know all that Phoenix FC do for the local community; this blew us away.

At Beeston Rise, we have always planned to play an active role in the community, the relationship with Phoenix FC is hopefully the first of many.
