Please let us know how we can contact you and a suitable time to get in touch.
Welcome to Humberston House, a part of the Tanglewood Care Homes Group. We offer care services in purpose-built environments, including residential, dementia, respite, and day care.
We understand that moving into a care home can be a big decision. Our Home Manager is here to help you make the right choice for yourself or your loved one. We’re here to share our knowledge and experience with you; no question is too small. We’re just a phone call away and happy to assist with any questions you have, no matter how small.
Yes. We are registered with CQC (Care Quality Commission), and they carry out comprehensive inspections and rate our services accordingly.
CQC obtain feedback from residents, relatives, friends, team members, and other professional agencies.
A full pre-admission assessment would be carried out, and the weekly fee is then calculated based on a bespoke package for you. The amount is dependent on the type of care you require, and the type of room you would like to reside in.
During the pre-admission process we work with you to ensure you are making the right choice financially. To help us do this we will ask you for details of funds and assets available to you to fund your care.
There is no administration fee charged to any of our residents at Humberston House. We do request that fees are payable in advance for respite care, and monthly in advance for permanent care. Our preferred method of payment is direct debit. Should there at any time be a credit balance on a final account, we will of course refund any monies due to the relevant bank account.
The annual fee uplift in line with inflation, and other cost increases, happens on 1st April each year. You will be given a minimum of four weeks’ notice for this increase. The only other reason fees may change is if your care needs change materially, or you choose to move to a higher priced room. We would always discuss any changes in fee with you as early as possible.
We encourage all new residents to personalise their room with their favourite belongings. All our rooms are furnished to a high standard so you do not have to provide additional furniture, but if you have a favourite piece we will do our very best to accommodate you.
Visiting times are completely open so your friends and family can visit you whenever you wish.
We do allow pets to visit Humberston House care home. Most people like to bring their dogs, but we do politely ask that they are kept on a lead and are supervised at all times. In addition, we also offer animal-based activities such as pet therapy as part of our lifestyles programme.
You can continue with the same GP providing they are in the same catchment area as Humberston House. If this is not the case, we have excellent relationships with local surgeries, and we will gladly register you with them on your behalf.
We are unable to accept responsibility for personal items that are lost or damaged, unless, in the unlikely event we have not taken reasonable security measures within the home. If you wish to bring items of value into the care home with you, it is important that you arrange suitable contents insurance cover.
We have a full and varied lifestyles calendar, including musical entertainment, clubs, arts & crafts and outings. Our dedicated activities co-ordinators will discuss your interests and hobbies with you, and will do their very best to incorporate this into your care plan and weekly activities. There is a monthly residents meeting where you can contribute to the creation of the homes lifestyles programme.
Our chefs offer a four week seasonal menu that changes daily, using the freshest ingredients. We cater for all dietary types such as vegan, vegetarian and diabetic. We also cater for different textured diets, including a soft diet and a fully modified diet. If there is nothing you fancy on the menu we always have alternative options available for you. We will discuss your diet along with any likes and dislikes on admission. The mealtime experience for you is very important to us. Catering is always on the agenda at the monthly residents meetings to enable you to give your valuable feedback first hand.
